Hello, I'm Angie and I LOVE CATS!
I have created Calne Cats and Co to provide a bespoke at home care service dedicated to cats and small animals giving owners peace of mind in the knowledge that while they are away their beloved pets can stay home with complete continuity of care.
Cats as a species are territorial and being extremely attached to their environment prefer staying at home to boarding at even the best cattery or cat hotel, my prices are for up to 3 cats making at home care an affordable alternative to catteries with the additional security benefit of your property being checked daily.
As a Registered Veterinary Nurse I offer professional care combined with love and compassion for your pets in the comfort of their own home during your absence.
What makes me different to other pet sitters?
Not only am I an animal lover with professional qualifications I’m “a cat person” - all you cat people out there will understand what I mean by this…..
at home care
All cats are individual and have different needs therefore Calne Cats and Co offer three mix and match daily home visit service levels
home boarding for small animals
This service is available on request where there are no cats requiring daily home visits
Administration of veterinary medicines and flea treatments
Nutritional and husbandry advice
A tailored care package created to exactly meet the unique requirements of your pets
More about me....
I am a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) and you will find my name on the list of current Veterinary Nurses held on the RCVS website .I happily adhere to the Code of Professional Conduct for Veterinary Nurses and maintain my professional knowledge with documented CPD.
Having managed a Pet Shop I also hold a City & Guilds Qualification in Pet Store Management passing both the Shop Management & Livestock Management papers with distinction.
I have always shared my home with cats (and lots of other animals!); currently I am lucky (or perhaps crazy) enough to live with three bengal cats a maine Coon kitten, a house rabbit and a trio of fancy goldfish. Sadly my Green Iguana who I adopted from Heathrow Airport in 1992 while working as Veterinary Nurse alongside a Specialist Exotic Animal Vet passed away aged 19 years in 2011.
My particular empathy and special bond with cats has led me to study their psychology on an individual basis for many years now and in June 2016 I passed the Centre of Excellence Online - Feline Behaviour and Psychology Diploma Course with a score of 91%
The course is accredited by the CMA (Complementary Medical Association), Upon completion of the course you can gain membership to the CMA.
The course is also certified by the IANLPC (International Association of NLP & Coaching) and the IAHT (International Alliance of Holistic Therapists).
In 2017 I hope to embark upon the 2 year ISFM Advanced Certificate in Feline Behaviour.
More recently I have been researching the Bach Flower Remedies having known many Animal Welfare Organisations especially those dealing with wildlife that have achieved improved success/survival rates where the Bach Rescue Remedy has been administered to traumatised individuals. I feel that these complementary remedies could greatly assist with reducing stress and aid the emotional healing of animals when used alongside conventional veterinary treatment with the Veterinary Surgeons knowledge and consent. I hope to qualify as a Bach Foundation Registered Animal Practitioner (BFRAP) in the future.
I will care for your cats professionally with love and compassion
I have a lifetime of experience keeping small animals, birds, fish and reptiles
